Confidentiality

We endeavour at every level and in all aspects of the services offered to provide a confidential service to all those seeking mental health support. Confidentiality exists between the person and the mental health professional.
That means:1. Information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will not be disclosed to anyone unless there are extenuating circumstances (see below). However, in order for us to provide our clients with the best possible help, it may be necessary to share information with a supervisor or more competent professional. In such a case, the case study will be submitted anonymously so that it cannot be identified with a specific individual.
2. No conversation about a client will take place with anyone who is not employed by the service as a paid member of staff.
3. No personal information about a customer will be shared with third parties, even if that person is a family member, except in the limited circumstances described below.
4. If the adviser intends to obtain information from another company or organisation to help the client or refer them to a local centre and this must be explained to you, the client, and your permission must be given in advance in relation to this.
5. We do not work with clients under the age of 18.
Exceptions:In certain circumstances, we reserve the right to breach confidentiality if deemed necessary. These circumstances include:
1. If you, the client, are under 18 years of age and you disclose information that may indicate a risk to children or yourself.
2. If a mental health professional thinks you may be a danger to yourself or others.
3. if you provide information that indicates that an offence has been committed.
4. If you provide information that indicates a possible terrorist threat.
We recognise that clients continue to take responsibility for their lives, even if this means that they choose to take their own lives. We encourage our clients to get help and support from the appropriate authorities and we encourage you as a client to call an ambulance if necessary. In all of these cases, if a decision needs to be made to breach confidentiality, this will only be done in consultation with a supervisor. The mental health professional will carefully record any incidents and all actions taken will be recorded.
This type of enquiry can be stressful, so we take reasonable steps to ensure that all staff receive appropriate training and regular peer supervision.
Record-keeping, statistics, evaluation and monitoring1. Customer records
- Any names, addresses and telephone numbers, customer records will be stored securely on the system of record. However, we cannot be responsible for your data that is stored on the databases of hosting providers and financial systems that provide payment transfer services. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, we cannot provide services to you.
- Any sign-in sheets will be automatically destroyed after 6 years of inactivity.
- You, as a client or previous client can access all written records about yourself which we only keep in person in the presence of our specialist.
2. Letters or online messages- Any emails or printed online messages will be stored securely.
- Any correspondence will be destroyed in six years.
- However, if an email or online message is received that expresses gratitude and support, it may be saved provided permission is requested from the author.
- If an email or online message is received that we would like to use in an advert, we will seek permission from the author to ensure they are happy for us to do so.
- Customer information will never be used for promotional purposes without consent.
3. analysing the data- Data will be collected to assist in scheduling appointments and providing services.- The data collected will have the sole purpose of enabling us to evaluate and monitor the services we offer.- In some cases, we may need to provide government agencies or the media and social media with information about the types of enquiries we make and the situations we deal with. In these cases, composite or fabricated case histories will be used and identified as such.

- We take all reasonable steps to ensure that our employees are trained and able to provide information about the Privacy Statement if asked to do so.
This Policy applies to all employees. All new team members are trained in its application. We take reasonable steps to ensure that existing employees understand its application. The Regulations and Rules are reviewed annually.
